You’re the One That I Want by Susan May Warren

This was my favorite book in the Christiansen series. It really rolls all the books together. I will miss this family. Sometimes it is not good to get to the last brother or sister. This book was about Owen, Scotty, and Casper and Raina. Casper goes out to find Owen to tell him he has a daughter by Raina. Owen is near Alaska working on a crab boat but goes overboard to try and save Scotty. They all end up back home to keep Casper out of jail for killing a man. This had a great amount of romance and some suspense. I loved it. I received this book from Tyndale for a fair and honest opinion.  Owen Christiansen has been in a downward spiral since an injury ended his NHL career. But a job on an Alaskan crabbing boat offers a fresh start . . . maybe even a shot at romance with Elise “Scotty” McFlynn, the captain’s daughter.
Used to being one of the guys, to never relying on anyone, Scotty doesn’t believe in happily ever after—especially with someone like Owen. Her instinct is confirmed when Casper Christiansen arrives to drag his prodigal brother home, bringing with him a truckload of family drama—and even worse, the news that Casper is wanted for questioning in connection to a crime back in Minnesota.
But Owen is more than the sum of his mistakes, a truth both he and Scotty discover when she escorts both brothers to Deep Haven as part of her new job on the Anchorage police force. Thrust into an unfamiliar world of family, faith, and fresh starts, Scotty begins to see potential for a happy ending . . . if she’s brave enough to embrace it. Tyndale House Publishers

Exiles: Realm of the Infinite

I don’t usually read too much fantasy anymore but I received an ebook copy of this story from book for a fair and honest opinion. I am glad that I asked to read it. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the next book in this Realms of the Infinite series. It started a little confusing for me and then I got into the flow of the book and had a hard time putting it down.

The Doll’s House by M.J. Arlidge

This was my favorite Detective Helen Grace novel yet. This flowed the best of all the books in this series. I could not put this one down. I give it a five out of five stars. I wanted everyone to find happiness in this book. Each character was so good. Even the bad guy was a great evil. I received this book from Firsttoread for a fair and honest opinion.  Overview

Paralyzed by Alana Terry

I really enjoyed this Christian suspense fiction novel. I loved the characters. Sometimes I wasn’t sure if this was a second book in a series because of the mentions of the first abduction but even if it is you can read it easily without reading anything else. It really kept my interest for the whole story. I received an ebook copy from the author for a fair and honest opinion.  Paralyzed Blogger Info

Vivid flashbacks and terrifying dreams paralyze her, threatening to ruin her academic career and any chance she has at peace or happiness. This mental anguish, however, constitutes only a small fraction of her post-traumatic nightmare.

Kennedy must engage in a deadly battle of the mind as she struggles to stay alive. While fighting on two fronts — one psychological and one physical — the question isn’t whether she’ll come out of the war stronger in the end.

The question is whether she’ll come out of it at all.

The Gift by Wanda E. Brunstetter

Fantastic! This is the second book in the Prairie State Friends series. This seemed to stand alone but I recommend reading the first in the series because Wanda E. Brunstetter books are always wonderful. I have never read one of hers that I didn’t like. This one has Leah Mast who has a gift of healing using reflexology and Adam Beachy who wants nothing to do with reflexology because of something that happened in his childhood. They meet because Adam has a tragedy and his sister and husband die and he is left to raise their children. Leah helps him to care for them. This book has a great bit of romance and just a hint of what will happen next. I really recommend this series. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion.

Not everyone thinks Leah has a gift Leah Mast and her family have always considered her to have a healing touch and a special gift for reflexology treating people s ailments by massaging certain places on their feet. But others scoff at the notion, saying the very idea of curing people through their feet is absurd. Adam Beachy is one of those scoffers, even though his own mother used to practice reflexology. And then she left the Amish faith and walked out on her family, leaving Adam s father to raise Adam and his sister alone. Now Adam mocks reflexology and balks at the idea of ever marrying and starting a family of his own. When tragedy strikes, Adam is suddenly a father figure to his nieces. Adam finds himself needing a wife immediately. Despite their differences, Leah seems the best option to fill that role. Can they hope to find peace and love in a modern-day marriage of convenience?”

Find Her by Lisa Gardner

This is a very intense story. I had a very hard time putting this down to go to work or go to bed. This was another great story with D.D. Warren. Is there more to Flora who has been abducted and held for more than a year. Is she a victim again or is she a vigilante. I give this book a five out of five. I received an ebook copy from firsttoread for a fair and honest opinion.

AN ESCAPED KIDNAPPING VICTIM BECOMES AN AVENGER OF INNOCENTS. CAN SHE ESCAPE WHEN SHE’S TARGETED AGAIN? The eighth novel in Sunday Times bestseller Lisa Gardner’s Detective D.D. Warren series. Harlan Coben says FIND HER is ‘taut psychological suspense’ which ‘should not be missed’. I escaped the box. The coffin that was both my prison and my lifeline. My prison as I waited each day for release. My lifeline as being locked inside meant being away from him. I escaped the box, but I didn’t escape its consequences. Now danger’s irrelevant. All I care about is making them pay. The other predators out there. Those just like the man who took me. And if someone tries to grab me again? I know how to protect myself. And when another girl is taken? Have no doubt: I will do anything, anything, to find her. Escaped kidnap victim Flora Dane has once again disappeared. Has the self-proclaimed vigilante become a victim? Or is something far more sinister at play? D.D. will have to race against the clock if she is going to Find Her.

Petticoat Detective by Margaret Brownley

This was a very good western historical romance. Jennifer and Tom click right away even if they don’t understand it themselves. Jennifer is undercover in a bordello as”Amy”. She is a Pinkerton agent trying to discover who is the Gunnysack bandit. She meets Tom Colton who is trying to find out who killed his brother. This has a lot of laughter throughout the story. This keeps it light and fun. I received an audiobook version of this from book for a fair and honest opinion.  Popular Fiction

Always on my Mind by Susan May Warren

This was again another great book in this series. I loved Casper and Raina. You need to read these books in order to enjoy them the best. All of the Christiansen children are wonderful. Raina has a child from a one night stand with Caspers brother. Does Casper love Raina enough to get over the fact of her having his brothers child? Casper longs to be the hero of at least one family story, but a never-ending Deep Haven winter and costly repairs threaten their efforts–and the future of the resort.Worse, one of Casper’s new jobs constantly brings him into contact with Raina, whom he can’t seem to forget. A tentative friendship begins to heal fresh wounds, but can they possibly overcome past mistakes and current choices to discover a future together?
