Whales and a Watery Grave by Ruby Loren

This was my first book to read in this series but I really enjoyed it. It has everything that a cozy mystery should have. I loved to learn about marine life and Madi and Auryn are a great couple. I hope to read more of the books in this series. I was able to understand most of this book without having read any others in the series but if the other books are this good I recommend reading them in order. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a four out of five stars.

A murder at the marine park and a holiday from hell.

After the recent drama at the zoo, a trip to Mallorca for sun, sea, and sand sounds perfect to Madi and Auryn. But things are about to go pear-shaped…

Madi’s newfound comic book fame sees her roped into a wildlife documentary being filmed at The Big Blue Marine Park. Unimpressed by the manipulative side of the so-called stars of the documentary, she is glad that her own part will be wrapped up quickly. But when one of them is found murdered… she realises she’s out of her depth.

Can Madi solve the mystery, or will she end up as shark bait?

Lone Witness by Rachel Dylan

This is absolutely fabulous. I did not want to put this down. I loved the romance between Sophie and Cooper. This is book 2 in the Atlanta Justice series and these stories just get better. There were many twists and turns throughout the story and I loved the intrigue.. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a five out of five stars.

Prosecutor Sophie Dawson is working on her first case for the D.A.’s office – a banking scheme – and already there are distractions. Sophie finds herself the only witness to a double murder by a gang whose members are determined to silence her. Sophie will not back down from her case or from testifying, so private security guard Cooper Knight is hired to ensure her safety…and he hopes he does not become too distracted by his feelings for Sophie.

The Sugarhouse Blues by Mariah Stewart blog tour

This is a wonderful romance. This is book two in the series and they you just keep getting better. It would be hard to move to a new town to earn an inheritance and even harder to find out you have a half sister you knew nothing about. This book was leaning towards Des but you get to know more about each sister and Barney, the aunt. I didn’t want to put this book down. I received a copy of this book fromGallery books for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a five out of five stars.

Allie, Des, and Cara, each having her own reasons for wanting a share of their father’s estate, meet in the grand Victorian home in which he grew up, only to be greeted by another secret he purposely hid from them: his sister Bonnie. The women reluctantly band together to take on Fritz’s challenge, working with a local contractor to begin the renovations financed by an account Fritz had set up for the task. While the restoration appears to go smoothly at first, it soon becomes apparent that the work will be more extensive than originally thought, and Des, elected to handle the money, needs to find ways to stretch out the remaining savings while searching for new sources of funding.

As strangers linked only by their DNA try to become a family, the Hudson sisters also try to come to terms with the father they only thought they knew. In the process, each woman discovers her own capacity for understanding, forgiveness, love, and the true meaning of family.

Defeating Dementia by Richard Furman, MD, FACS

This book really gives you a good idea of what dementia and Alzheimer’s really is. This tells the stages that one goes through and some ways to possibly slow the progression down. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a four out of five stars.

Dementia. It’s one of the most dreaded conditions we face as we age. Many people claim they would rather be diagnosed with cancer than dementia or Alzheimer’s. What many don’t realize is that dementia is not a forgone conclusion as we get older. Our own lifestyle choices and habits can have a significant impact–for good or ill–on our chances of developing the disease. And that means there’s hope.

In Defeating Dementia Dr. Richard Furman draws from the latest medical research to help us understand dementia and Alzheimer’s. He explains how three powerful lifestyle changes can help decrease the probability of developing this disease. He also describes how eating the right foods, exercising, and sustaining an ideal weight can dramatically reduce the likelihood of developing dementia in the first place, and even how it can slow the progression of the disease in someone who has already received a diagnosis.

The Hidden Side by Heidi Chiavaroli

This was fantastic. It made me laugh and cry. I don’t always like books that go back and forth between present day and past days but this is well done. I never had problems knowing which character I was reading about. This tells about what the family goes through when one member murders some people. Well done. I did not want to put this down. I received a copy of this book from Tyndale Blog Network for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a five out of five stars.

Pelican Point by Irene Hannon

This series just gets better and better for me. I love the main characters and then when you add in Charlie and the seagulls it just makes me fall in love with the story. This one has a bit of intrigue and lots of romance. A great combination. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a five out of five stars.

How important can one old lighthouse be? Ex-Army surgeon Major Ben Garrison thinks it’s an eyesore, a burden he’s inherited and can’t wait to trade off. But Marci Weber, editor of the Hope Harbor Herald, holds a very different view. To her, Pelican Point is a landmark that must be saved. It’s a clash of heads – and hearts – as the fate of the lighthouse hangs in the balance.

A Duke Like No Other by Valerie Bowman with a giveaway

This is a fun series. I have enjoyed each of them greatly. The characters are a lot of fun. I loved Nicole and Mark and how they must learn to admit that they love each other and need to be together. I received a copy of this book from St. Martin’s Press for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Please leave a comment by 5/20/18 for a chance to win a paperback copy of the book. Please leave a way for me to contact you if you win.

I give this a four out of five stars.

Author Bio:

VALERIE BOWMAN grew up in Illinois with six sisters (she’s number seven) and a huge supply of historical romance novels. After a cold and snowy stint earning a degree in English with a minor in history at Smith College, she moved to Florida the first chance she got. Valerie now lives in Jacksonville with her family including her mini-schnauzer, Huckleberry. When she’s not writing, she keeps busy reading, traveling, or vacillating between watching crazy reality TV and PBS. She is the author of the Secret Brides and Playful Brides series.

Summary:

First comes love, then comes marriage. Unless it’s the other way around. . .

General Mark Grimaldi has sacrificed everything for his military career, working his way through the ranks without the benefit of a nobleman’s title. Now, his years of dedication are about to pay off—with an offer for a prestigious promotion to Home Secretary. There’s only one condition: Mark must be married. Aside from the small matter of not actually wanting to be wed, Mark faces another troubling problem: he already has a wife.

Nicole Huntington Grimaldi has spent ten contented years in France without her husband—and without regret. When Mark asks her to return to London and play the part of his beloved wife, she sees her chance. But neither of them is prepared for news that will throw Mark’s future into chaos…nor the undeniable desire they’ve rekindled. Maybe happily-ever-after can happen the second time around in A Duke Like No Other , the next Regency romance from Valerie Bowman.

A Most Noble Heir by Susan Anne Mason

I always love books by this author and this one definitely does not disappoint. How would you handle finding out one day that you are not a stable boy but the son of the manor. Both Nolan and Hannah must learn how they will handle coming up in the world. I love how the author treats each of the characters. I did not want to stop reading this story. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I give this a five out of five stars.

When stable hand Nolan Price learns from his dying mother that he is actually the son of the Earl of Stainsby, his plans for a future with kitchen maid Hannah Burnham are shattered. Once he is officially acknowledged as the earl’s heir, Nolan will be forbidden to marry beneath his station.

Unwilling to give up the girl he loves, he devises a plan to elope–believing that once their marriage is sanctioned by God, Lord Stainsby will be forced to accept their union. However, as Nolan struggles to learn the ways of the aristocracy, he finds himself caught between pleasing Hannah and living up to his father’s demanding expectations.

At every turn, forces work to keep the couple apart, and a solution to remain together seems further and further away. With Nolan’s new life pulling him irrevocably away from the woman he loves, it seems only a miracle will bring them back together.
