The End Game by Catherine Coulter

I think this is one of my favorite in this series. I love Nicholas and Mike. They are such a great team. It was great to get them and get Savich and Sherlock. They all work so well together. It was hard to put this book down. There were lots of thrills and chills. I received a copy of this book from Firsttoread for a fair nod

Daughters of the Heart by Caryl McAddo With giveaway

This was a wonderful western romance. I really loved the Buckmeyer family. This makes me want to read the first 4 books in the series. This one pretty much stands alone but the tidbits about the rest of the family from previous books makes you want to read them all. Should Henry(the father) allow his two older daughters that are at home to date the men that they like. This whole family is funny and wonderful. I really look forward to the next book to find out what happens to all the rest of the family. I received this book for a fair and honest opinion from the author. Link to purchase book: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1512273791

Book Information:

God’s perfect plan is sometimes so hard to determine.

Gwendolyn, Cecelia, and the youngest, Bonnie, make a pact never to break their father’s heart like their big sister did. Then their determination is sorely tried when suitors show up, and he gets so pigheaded with his rules.

Will Henry survive his daughters coming of age? Will they endure and keep their promises to each other?
From one man asking to court her—who Daddy sends packing—Gwen goes to three! How can she ever decide? Cecelia knows exactly who she wants, but she’s still a year away from Daddy’s acceptable courting age. What if her beau doesn’t know or won’t wait? And Bonnie hates being the baby and wants to be grown-up more than just about anything…except her man. She is for sure and for certain in love.
In his life, Henry Buckmeyer has never been so beside himself. His little girls are so young, just babies, too young. He hates the whole idea of men coming to take them away and is inclined to shoot every one of them, but praise God for a level-headed, loving wife and step-mother! She helps keep him sane amidst the female chaos. Packed with fun, romance, deception, action, heartbreak and tears, this delightful Christian novel keeps the twists and turns coming.

Will the Buckmeyer home ever be settled and peaceful again? Will any of his daughters find true love…a man he’ll approve and to whom he can give his blessing?

The Ripper Gene by Michael Ransom

This was a fast paced thriller that was very hard to put down especially a little more than half way through. I had to stay up late to finish the ending. Something new happens around every corner. This is his first novel and I really look forward to his next one. I hope he will write more books that have Lucas and Woodson. I loved the science part of the story also. I received this book from Smith Publicity, Inc. For a fair and honest opinion.About The Ripper Gene:

A neuroscientist-turned-FBI-profiler discovers a genetic signature that produces psychopaths in The Ripper Gene, a thrilling debut novel from Michael Ransom.
Dr. Lucas Madden is a neuroscientist-turned-FBI profiler who first gained global recognition for cloning the ripper gene and showing its dysfunction in the brains of psychopaths. Later, as an FBI profiler, Madden achieved further notoriety by sequencing the DNA of the world’s most notorious serial killers and proposing a controversial “damnation algorithm” that could predict serial killer behavior using DNA alone.
Now, a new murderer-the Snow White Killer-is terrorizing women in the Mississippi Delta. When Mara Bliss, Madden’s former fiancée, is kidnapped, he must track down a killer who is always two steps ahead of him. Only by entering the killer’s mind will Madden ultimately understand the twisted and terrifying rationale behind the murders-and have a chance at ending the psychopath’s reign of terror.

Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund

I wish this could have kept going because I was enjoying learning about Martin Luther and his wife Katharina. I had a very hard time putting this book down. Jody gave these people life. I always cringe when I hear how terrible the church could be in its early days. I am so glad things have improved over the years. Both Martin Luther and Katharina grew as they got to know each other. I received a copy of this book from the Blogging for Books program for a fair and honest opinion.  More About the Author

 Jody Hedlund

Biography

Jody Hedlund is an award-winning and bestselling author of inspirational historical romances for both youth and adults.
As a busy mama-writer, she has the wonderful privilege of teaching her crew of 5 children at home. In between grading math papers and giving spelling tests, she occasionally does a load of laundry and washes dishes. When she’s not busy being a mama, you can find her in front of her laptop working on another of her page-turning stories.
She loves reading almost as much as she loves writing, especially when it also involves chocolate and coffee.

Overview
She was a nun of noble birth. He, a heretic, a reformer…an outlaw of the Holy Roman Empire.
In the 16th century, nun Katharina von Bora’s fate fell no further than the Abbey. Until she read the writings of Martin Luther.

His sweeping Catholic church reformation—condemning a cloistered life and promoting the goodness of marriage—awakened her desire for everything she’d been forbidden. Including Martin Luther himself.

Despite the fact that the attraction and tension between them is undeniable, Luther holds fast to his convictions and remains isolated, refusing to risk anyone’s life but his own. And Katharina longs for love, but is strong-willed. She clings proudly to her class distinction, pining for nobility over the heart of a reformer. They couldn’t be more different.

But as the world comes tumbling down around them, and with Luther’s threatened life a constant strain, these unlikely allies forge an unexpected bond of understanding, support and love.

Together, they will alter the religious landscape forever.

Irish Meadows by Susan Anne Mason

This book made me laugh and cry. It is about two sisters and their family. How do they live with each other and how do they get their father to let them do what they want to do with their lives. Everyone in this story learns many valuable lessons. Love the horse farm that they live on. Each sister is so different and falls in love with very different men. I received this book from Bethany House and the author for a fair and honest opinion.
Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

1911, Long Island, New York
Faced With an Uncertain Future, Sometimes All You Have Left Is the Courage to Dream
Brianna and Colleen O’Leary know their Irish immigrant father expects them to marry well. Recently he’s put even more pressure on them, insinuating that the very future of their Long Island horse farm, Irish Meadows, rests in their ability to land prosperous husbands. Both girls, however, have different visions for their futures.
Brianna, a quiet girl with a quick mind, dreams of attending college. Vivacious Colleen, meanwhile, is happy to marry–as long as her father’s choice meets her exacting standards of the ideal groom. When former stable hand Gilbert Whelan returns from business school and distant relative Rylan Montgomery visits Long Island during his seminary training, the two men quickly complicate everyone’s plans.
As the farm slips ever closer to ruin, James O’Leary grows more desperate. It will take every ounce of courage for both sisters to avoid being pawns in their father’s machinations and instead follow their hearts. And even if they do, will they inevitably find their dreams too distant to reach?
“Mason’s Courage to Dream debut about the O’Leary sisters’ love entanglements brings readers early American romance at its finest.”–RT Book Reviews
“This engaging debut is part historical romance, part family drama, and all about the power of faith and love to move mountains. The spirited O’Leary clan is well drawn and appealing, ready to band together during times of trouble. Mason’s enjoyable read lays the groundwork for the next installment, which promises to be just as strong as the first.”–Library Journal starred review

The Gates of Evangeline by Hester Young

I really loved reading this book. I did not want to put it down. I love reading about clairvoyant people and when they can save children it is fantastic. This was a nice story about a woman who loses her child and has to rebuild her life. She gets a new job down south trying to find out how to find this missing boy and see if she can solve a thirty year mystery about a missing boy. The family hires her to write a book about the case and see what turns up. There are a lot of twists and turns and lots of intrigue. I loved it. I received this ebook from the Firsttoread program for a fair and honest opinion.  From a unique new talent comes a fast-paced debut, introducing a heroine whose dark visions bring to light secrets that will heal or destroy those around her . . .

When New York journalist and recently bereaved mother Charlotte “Charlie” Cates begins to experience vivid dreams about children she’s sure that she’s lost her mind. Yet these are not the nightmares of a grieving parent, she soon realizes. They are messages and warnings that will help Charlie and the children she sees, if only she can make sense of them.
After a little boy in a boat appears in Charlie’s dreams asking for her help, Charlie finds herself entangled in a thirty-year-old missing-child case that has never ceased to haunt Louisiana’s prestigious Deveau family. Armed with an invitation to Evangeline, the family’s sprawling estate, Charlie heads south, where new friendships and an unlikely romance bring healing. But as she uncovers long-buried secrets of love, money, betrayal, and murder, the facts begin to implicate those she most wants to trust—and her visions reveal an evil closer than she could’ve imagined.
A Southern Gothic mystery debut that combines literary suspense and romance with a mystical twist, THE GATES OF EVANGELINE is a story that readers of Gillian Flynn, Kate Atkinson, and Alice Sebold won’t be able to put down.
